Overview
Custom Inbox gives your organization a dedicated email address inside Responsiv that can receive messages from regulators, agencies, vendors, internal distribution lists, or any other source. Each incoming email is automatically captured as an Alert in the platform — turning a noisy inbox into a structured, trackable workflow.
This is the bridge between the regulatory and business communications your team already receives over email, and the structured compliance work you do in Responsiv.
How It Works
- Forward or subscribe — send emails to your organization's Custom Inbox address. You can forward individual messages, set up auto-forwarding rules from shared mailboxes, or subscribe the address directly to regulator distribution lists and agency bulletins.
- Automatic alert creation — every inbound email becomes an Alert in Responsiv, with the sender, subject, body, and any attachments preserved.
- Create an obligation — each alert can added to your register of in-scope obligations which gives you additional capabilities: view requirements and organize implementation tasks to different internal stakeholders, set due dates, and track progress to completion.
Common Sources for the Custom Inbox
- Regulator and agency mailing lists (e.g., SEC, FINRA, CFTC, FDIC, OCC, CFPB, state regulators, international regulators)
- Self-regulatory organization bulletins
- Industry association notices
- Vendor and third-party compliance communications
- Internal distribution lists where regulatory updates currently land
Why Use It
- Nothing gets lost — regulatory emails stop living in individual inboxes and become tracked work
- Right people, right tasks — multi-assignee tasks mean a single regulatory change can be split across the teams that actually need to act on it
- Connected to the rest of your compliance program — alerts link directly to the obligations, requirements, and controls already in Responsiv
- Complements Horizon Scanning — Responsiv's automated monitoring covers public regulatory sources; Custom Inbox covers everything else that arrives by email
