The Requirements Extraction Module in Responsiv is designed to breakdown complex, and potentially long legal texts into plain language, actionable requirements. These requirements form a checklist of actions an organization needs to take to be compliant with the legal text. This allows customers to:

• Operationalize Compliance: Transform legal language into discrete compliance items that can be assigned, tracked, and implemented by your teams.
• Support Auditable Mapping: Maintain traceability from legal text to internal obligations and actions taken.

Extracting Requirements

In order to extract requirements, you must:

Step 1: Identify a Citation you’d like to extract requirements from

1. You can either run a Deep Research search to retrieve the relevant Citation OR
2. Manually identify the Citation through the Sources page

Step 2: Click into the Citation and Create an Obligation (or add to an existing obligation) in the top right corner of the Citation.

Step 3: Once you have an Obligation with an associated Citation, Run Requirements Extraction by clicking the action button next to the obligation.

• Extract Requirements (Automation) generates requirements in an object in Responsiv
• Extract Requirements generates a plain text list of requirements as a Thread

Step 4: If you’ve generated requirements in an object in Responsiv by using Extract Requirements (Automation), you can see a list of requirements stored in Responsiv by clicking into an individual obligation and then going to the Requirements tab.
